Nashville Young Democrats Committees serve as a primary pathway for members to directly shape how the organization functions. They are essential to ensuring our operations run efficiently, and they provide a great connection into the world of local and state politics. By becoming a member of NYD, you will be selected to serve on a committee and bring your insight, knowledge, and personal experience into our strong youth coalition. 

Political Affairs is tasked with promoting civic engagement within the Nashville Young Dems while advocating for the values and needs of Young Nashvillians in local, state, and federal politics. With NYD's primary function being a political organization, this is one of the most important committees that NYD members can be an integral part of! Work includes: 

• Creating public statements/press releases on political events/policy issues that directly impact Young Nashvilians
• Coordinating with democratic candidates on ways to help support their campaigns through volunteer engagement. 
• Creating civic engagement opportunities and content that further encourages voter registration/turnout & knowledge on how government works.
• Providing endorsement recommendations to NYD's Executive Board in the event of a Democratic Primary.

Outreach & Membership Engagement is tasked with growing, retaining, and engaging Nashville Young Dem members by welcoming prospective members, maintaining accurate membership data, creating meaningful pathways for involvement, and communicating the value of membership across the full 18–35 age spectrum. Work includes:

• Directly identifying, attracting, and onboarding prospective members.
• Creating events and other opportunities to deepen participation, incentivize continued membership, and build community among existing members.
• Maintaining NYD's membership roster and the tools necessary to accurately track engagement and communication among members. 

Fundraising is tasked with assisting NYD's Treasurer with maintain financial records for NYD and the Davidson County Young Democrats PAC, leading NYD's Spring and Fall Fundraisers, and creating more creative ways our organization can raise funds to further advance NYD's Mission and Game Plan. Work includes: 

• Planning and Executing NYD's Spring and Fall Fundraisers. 
• Advising on financial goals and priorities of NYD. 
• Planning and Executing Fundraising campaigns for NYD and the Davidson County Young Democrats PAC. 
• Maintaining NYD's Donor Roster & other financial records for compliance purposes.

Communications is tasked with further promoting the NYD brand through creating content/branded material and strengthening relationships with local political/community organizations. Work includes:

• Creating and maintaining NYD's content calendar for social media.
• Creating branded merchandise and other material for membership and the general public.
• Attending major community events on behalf of the Nashville Young Democrats.  
• Maintaining NYD's list of local/regional organizations that complement the values and mission of the Nashville Young Democrats.
